About Cox

Cox Radio is the fourth largest radio broadcasting company in the United States, based on net revenues. Cox Radio owns, operates, or provides sales and marketing services to 81 stations (64 FM, 17 AM) in 17 markets and employs over 1,700 people.

The success of Cox Radio is rooted in more than 65 years of history. We know how to operate radio stations -- we've been doing it since 1934 when we put WHIO-AM (Dayton, OH) on the air.

The development philosophy of Cox Radio includes a clustering strategy while maintaining a solid station mix across high-growth areas. Clustering allows us to serve a broader, more diverse audience and become more involved in our communities with maximum economies of scale.

In 15 of our 17 markets, Cox operates three or more station. Our solid presence in the expanding Sunbelt includes top-ranked stations in Atlanta, Birmingham, San Antonio, Houston, and four Florida cities: Miami, Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville.

Cox Radio Atlanta offers a range of internship opportunities for students interested in broadcasting and business administration. There are a variety of placement areas for students with course work in accounting, finance, news, production, programming, promotion, sales, and sales operation.
