  • With two top administrators at a DeKalb elementary school under suspicion of changing students' answers on the CRCTs, the DeKalb County District Attorney's office has now joined the investigation. The principal of Atherton Elementary has already resigned. If it's proven that ex-principal Dr. James Berry and assistant principal Doretha Alexander tampered with the tests, they could face felony charges of tampering with state documents. Three other Georgia school are implicated--two in Fulton, one in Glynnn County.

  • A chilling picture in Fulton County court, for the probable cause hearing of an 18-year-old high school dropout accused of killing his mother. Police say Alexander Cordell laughed his way through his confession, saying it was quite an adrenaline rush to shoot his mother nine times with a carbine rifle as she sat in her car. A defense lawyer says Cordell "snapped."

  • An Atlanta man in a work truck drives a half-mile down the Buford-Spring Connector...in the wrong direction. Police say 47-year-old Richard Jernigan was driving drunk and caused nine separate accidents before jumping out and running away. Witnesses chased him down and held him for the cops. One woman was hospitalized for injuries.

  • Today's audition day for more than 9,000 American Idol wanna-bes. The line this morning snakes around the Georgia Dome.

  • President Obama impresses a camera crew--but peeves PETA--by swatting a pesky fly at the White House during an interview with CNBC's John Harwood. When the bug settled onto his hand, the president smacked it on the first try and went on to finish the interview--saying, "Now, where were we?" The camera crew was still rolling in the East Room, but Mr. Obama didn't mind. He pointed to the vanquished insect on the ground and said, "You want to film that?'' CNBC did. But PETA has now sent the president a Katcha Bug humane bug trapper which lets you release the pests outside. They say the president should display compassion even to the "least sympathetic animals."

  • Chris Brown loses a bid to delay his June 22 preliminary hearing in his alleged beating of Rihanna. It's meant to see if there's enough evidence to go ahead with a trial. The state Supreme Court said no to Brown's lawyer's attempt to get hold of information about how the cops investigated the case.

  • Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss takes a closed-door meeting with Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, saying afterward, "The one thing that impressed me about her is she is not out of the Thurgood Marshall philosophy of making a decision and letting the law catch up with it." He says she also answered some questions he had on the 2nd Amendment, but Chambliss hasn't said how he'll vote on her. Senator Isakson meets her today.

  • The driver of the Mustang believed to have been racing with a Corvette Tuesday night on I-285 before the crash which killed two people has now surrendered to police. No charges filed so far; police say they are trying to confirm whether the cars were drag racing.

  • A KFC fan upset over not getting that free chicken in the Oprah-hyped two-piece grilled chicken giveaway in May is now apparently suing, angry that the restaurant ran out of chicken and gave out IOUs instead. James Asanuma's lawsuit in LA complains about the travel time, the cost of printing and postage, on and on. No word what damages he's seeking. We can hear the chants now: "No Justice! No Two Piece!"

  • The KISS 104.1 weather forecast: mostly sunny, hot and muggy with a high around 94, low of 73.
