- Today, a pair of south Georgia parents may get confirmation whether remains pulled from a flattened hotel in Port-au-Prince are those of their daughter. Courtney Hayes, a student at Lynn University in Florida, has not been seen since Haiti's January 12 earthquake. - Governor Perdue is eyeing state lottery money as a way to ease the budget crisis, but he could have a hard fight ahead. - DeKalb County Police will be packing more heat, trading in their 9-millimeters for 40-caliber handguns. County commissioners okayed the cash for 1,200 Smith & Wessons; the department's Berettas are more than years old and aren't even made anymore. Officers on the street say they're encountering better-armed criminals who are packing AK-47s and street sweepers.
